Good morning,

With the key on, you should have power to the positive side of the coil. You should also have power to the negative side as well. If you do not, replace the coil.

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

I changed the motor on my 01. It is a 5.4 L. My theft is flashing. And I am not getting power to my fuel pump or any spark is there a way to reset the theft or to bypass it?

You will have to re-learn the key for the PATS to reconize the key.

Are you refering to the coils? Are you getting power to them? Has the check engine light come on? Crank sensor?

Let me know.

If you have a basic volt meter, just put one side to ground and the other to the wiring going to the coil.

Under the hood is in the relay box is an EEC relay. If bad, it will shut down fuel and spark. Switch it with a known good one with the same part number and see if things change.

Spray some starting fluid into the air filter and see if it tries to start.

You need to check the fuel pressure, remove one of the coils and put a plug on the end and see if it sparks.

You need to check for power to the pump. The inertia switch is in the right front kick panel. Current will last 2 seconds when the key is on. Verify that power.

Check the fuses with a test light to verify all powers to the pcm.

1997 Ford F150 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 65 000 miles

We just bought a 97 Ford F150 a few months ago and since it has gotten colder and a bit damper, the truck has started on some days and not on others. Most recently it won't start at all. We've checked the relays and replaced them, and put a new coil in, but still no start. Any suggestions on what needs to be done?

Well your saying no spark is getting to the distributor? Or you saying no spark is coming from the coil.

Does it fire up with starting fluid sprayed in the throttle body.

The truck ran when I parked it. I sprayed brake cleaner on driver side valve cover because it was rusty and was going to patch up. After the brake cleaner rinsed off with water hose did not spray at full force just rinse off to clean up. Waited for a few days to make sure everything was dry. Did what I had to do the next day did not start. I replaced coil, control module, cap rotor. Sprayed electric cleaner on connectors dryer out with air hose and still nothing. Any suggestions?
