I the car listed above with a 1.O 1Kr engine that i replace because it overheated. then we replaced with another 1kR engine which was not new which looked like everything is the same. when trying to start the engine it cranks but wont start. then we diagnosed the engine, results were crank sensor failure. we change it installed another sensor it showed same results of crank sensor failure. If you will be able to assist me i will be happy.

Hello,

This could be a problem with the wires going to the Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP) or the CKP reluctor wheel itself which attaches to the crankshaft. I would start by inspecting the connector to the sensor and the wires. In the diagrams down below I have included a description of how the CKP circuit works, wiring diagram for the CKP, guided component tests for the CKP, and how to find an open and a short circuit in an electrical circuit for you. Please go through these guides and get back to us with what you are able to find out.

Thanks,
Alex
