Car ran out of gas. I put gas In it. It ran out again, I put $5.00 in it, it went two miles down the road sputtered. I turned it off put $5.00 more in it. It will not start. I checked the bleeder it is getting pressure. The pump will turn on sometimes and sometimes it will buzz for a second and then knock.

Hello, I am Danny.

The worst thing to do to an in-tank fuel pump is run it low or out of gas.The pump itself uses the gas as a lubricant and for cooling. I would suggest testing the fuel pressure. It could be a weak/failing fuel pump. If you do not have access to a pressure tester your local auto parts stores have a tool loaner program and will rent you one. Your fuel pressure should be 41-47 P.S.I. I have attached a tutorial showing how to test. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.
