About a week ago CEL came on and got P0171 bank 1 too lean. Issues with starting and idling rough. I drove it to the store and parked like normal. Cranked but wouldn't start when tried to leave store. Towed car home. P0340 was the only code. Replaced both camshaft position sensors (bank 1 and 2) and the crankshaft position sensor. Cranks but still no start. Now P0340 and P0345. Help!

Hi,

The codes are now for both banks. I suspect we may have a timing issue. Is it possible for you to record it cranking and upload it for me to hear? If it is timing-related, I should be able to recognize it.

Also, were there any prior indications there was a problem? Have you checked to see if there is spark and fuel to the engine? If you use starting fluid, will it start and then stall? If that is the case, then we would know it is a fuel issue. If there is no change, then it could be ignition related. If you want to try this, here is a link that explains how to check for an ignition spark:

Let me know. Also, if I could hear it cranking, it may be very helpful.

Take care,

joe
