After letting us sit for the weekend I went to start the car and ended up with no spark. It’s been four months since then. I’ve replaced both crank and cam sensors, I’ve put in a new battery and spark plugs. I even sent it to Nissan. From the look of it a crash had happened to the vehicle previously and the side that was damaged was with the fuse box. They told me I needed to replace my ECM and IPDM. As well as some minor damage to my ignition coil connections to my wiring harness that was all they told me. I’ve replaced the ECM and IPDM, but I still have no spark. You’d think I would have spark now at least?

Hi,

Not knowing the extent of the prior damage, which is difficult to answer. However, my first suspect is the crank sensor.

Do you have a live data scan tool? If you do, check for an RPM signal when cranking. If you don't have a scan tool as mentioned, see if the tachometer moves a little when cranking the engine.

Take a look at this link and let me know your thoughts:

Take care and let me know.

I changed the crank sensor and Nissan tested it with a known good sensor. And there’s nothing on my tachometer when it cranks.

Hi,

If there is no RPM signal, then we likely have an issue with the wiring at the sensor or the PCM.

Do me a favor. I attached the diagnostics below for you. Take a look through them and let me know if you are comfortable performing them.

I realize you are not finding codes, so I selected a P0335 because it checks both the electrical and mechanical portions of the system.

Let me know.

Joe
