Crank position sensor

what is the reason for crank position sensor sending configuring message to the computer?

the crank and cam sensors tell when to fire the cylinders. if you have a check engine light and the crank sensor code is showing then it can be it is out of sync with cam sensor. if engine runs screwy see if any play in distributor rotor as it should not have any if it does then the gear may be going bad on distributor.
