Shuts off while driving, then only cranks

Shuts off while driving then cranks but will not start until hour or so later.

Hello,

This sounds like a classic crankshaft position sensor that is going out. When this sensor goes out is does not trigger a check engine light but we should run the codes first to see what comes up.
