Blew an intake gasket last week. cleaned the top end of the engine then installed new gaskets, a new oil pressure sending unit, installed the intake, the upper intake, the throttle body, all the wires and hoses. got to the point of starting it but when i cranked it there it did not start. I then pulled the wire off the coil and tested it with a spark plug and no spark from coil, replaced the coil and tried again still no spark. All fuses for ECM and what not still good. Suspected the ignition switch so i ran a wire to a 15 amp fuse and wired the fuse direct to the ECM 1 fuse to the battery in order to continue power past ignition switch. still no spark. i am at a loss and about to give up and sell it.

You are most probably going the wrong direction. No spark could be due to a fault with the drank position sensor. Have it checked, maybe the wire connector has been worked is loose due to working around the engine.
