Hello. I just recently purchased the car listed above, used. I was made aware of an issue with the security system before I purchased it and was also shown how they were still able to start and drive the vehicle. The steering column was partially taken apart as to make way to the ignition and lock cylinder. The lock cylinder was still in place and had to be unlocked by the key that is actually a Honda key that originally went to the vehicle. The ignition switch is the part that has been taken apart from the lock cylinder and is used to actually start the vehicle with a flat head screwdriver. The green key light would come on and would flash 5 times while cranking the motor and it would always start until this morning. Last night and this morning we had a very good rain and now after the rain I went to start the vehicle and all it does is keep cranking over, but it will not start. Also, what is new this morning is that the green key light comes on when I put the key in the on position and it goes off after a couple of seconds but then when I start to crank the motor it comes back on and flashes 5 times and goes off again. I have checked for spark, fuel, and all the fuses. Everything checks out good.

This indicates an issue with the immobilizer system. I would try a hard system reboot; this can clear the stem and allow it to restart itself.

Let me know what happens.
