The car cranks like it is going to start?

The car cranks like it's going to start but right when it should start it just keeps cranking. the fuel pump was tested. so I’d say that’s not the issue, but I’m not sure.

Yep, this sounds like fuel or a spark problem. So, we need to narrow the problem down, this video will help:

If the engine does not have spark, I would swap out the crankshaft sensor which is a common problem with "no spark" issues. Here is the location, also how does the engine sound while cranking, normal? Check out the images (below).
