I replaced the wires only, motor started shaking, backfire, then died and now crank but no start. I replaced the fuel filter and I think I have the fire order right. There's also a little pop sound front driver side when I try to start. Sometimes when it's cold, it will start for like 3 seconds then shut off again. Battery good and have been keeping it charged with a charger.

Hi,

If it wasn't doing this before replacing the spark plug wires, chances are you have them going to the wrong cylinders.

I attached a pic below showing the wire orientation. Check this to make sure you have them correct. It's easy to make a mistake. The pop sound you hear is likely a cylinder firing at the wrong time.

Also, if you could record what it is doing and upload it for me to hear, it would help.

Let me know.

Joe
