The oil gauge is at 80, at was told repairs would be $300.00, including parts and labor?

Good afternoon,
Did they check the sensor that sends the signal to the dash? If the sensor is bad, that would be an easy fix.
As far as the dash, if it is bad, you can have it repaired for about $200.00 after you remove it and send it to a shop for repair.

The check engine light is on and the gauge is reading 80. the gentlemen who checked it used the engine light reader and went by the codes he got, which when looked up gave him the diagnosis??

Okay, the first thing I need is the code.
Code readers do not tell you the issue. They just tell you the area of failure.
Can you give me the code number so I can get you the correct information?
