Cooling fans on high

So I replaced the AC compressor, with that I replaced the thermostat and also the water pump. After filling the system with coolant, the cooling fans seem to want to run on the high setting when I drive it. I have tried burping the system, and I am not losing coolant, and also the car does not run hot. It is just that before this work, the fans never ran on the high setting.

Was the AC running before you did this repair?

With the AC running, the fan needs to run to cool the condenser. It may be actual normal.

The AC was running before, but again the fans never have spun on high speed like this for the six years I have driven this car. I am simply put off by this as I am used to the normal fan speed sound.

Okay.

High speed is normal for the AC operation. If you turn off the AC, does the fan still stay on high?

While running the car after the repair, the fan will come on when it reaches operating temperature like normal. However, after some minutes they go to high speed yet the car is not overheating or losing coolant.

Is the temperature gauge any higher than normal? It sounds like the system is working unless it is running hotter than normal.

Temperature is not running any hotter on the gauge. It is just weird because before the repair I have never heard the fans run that high. Keep in mind that to get the AC compressor out I had to remove those fans but I would not think that would affect it. Or would a new thermostat affect it?

Both could. You may have a bad connection at the fan for high speed.

Also the thermostat may have changed the temperature if it was stuck open, the engine temperature would be low and no need for a high fan. Now that temperature is normal the high fan has a command.

Hm. Maybe the thermostat was stuck open. But is that even a problem? The fans do go into High Speed but the engine temp is still just below half way, even when driving in stop-go traffic.

The old thermostat looked tarnished, but not necessarily rusted. Likewise, the inside of the coolant hoses as well as the coolant was perfect - no rust.
