Usually this will be a bad engine coolant temperature sensor. Here is the location and how to change it out so we can be on the same page. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

I put the new temperature sending unit in and it's still overheating, it did not fix the problem. Could you please let me know what may be going on? Thank you, have a nice day, bye.

So, the engine overheats while the cooling fan are running? I have seen a stuck thermostat cause this issue. Here is a guide to go over to help understand what's going on and I have included how to change the thermostat out. Check out the images (below). Please upload pictures or videos in your response of any problems so we can see what to help you with.

I'm sorry I put the temperature sending unit in and the fans are still not coming on. When I take the temperature sending unit plug off, they come on but when I put it back on, they don't stay on they quit running.

You may have a PCM that is going out, to be sure let's use a scanner to see what the PCM is reading for the engine coolant temperature.
