Hi,
You will need to drain some coolant from the system. Never do this when the engine is hot. Allow the engine to cool before working on the cooling system
The ECT is located on the rear of the driver's side engine cylinder head. If you look at the two pics below, they provide the directions for removal and replacement specific to your vehicle. Additionally, there is a picture of the sensor location.
When you do it, make sure the engine coolant in the radiator is drained below the level of the sensor because the coolant will leak out, unless you are really fast. LOL

If you look at the last pic below, it shows where the drain on the radiator is located. It will be at the bottom right side of the radiator. (Passenger side)
