Coolant temperature sensor housing replacement

I was replacing the coolant temperature sensor and the housing cracked. Not sure what to do or how to temporarily fix. Please help.

Hello, I'm Danny.

You can try to use the brand name JB weld epoxy to bond the broken piece back on but if you do that you will never be able to remove the sensor ever again. Best thing to do is go to a wrecking yard, parts store, or Toyota dealer and replace the housing. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Say I jJB weld it and the temperature sensor goes bad, would the engine be okay if it’s not working?

Hello again.

Like I said in my prior post is if you do decide to JB weld the sensor it will probably never be able to be removed.I guess you might consider replacing with a new sensor before JB welding. This is just a suggestion. Me personally I would replace the housing. Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.
