Coolant was leaking inside of my vehicle on the passenger floorboard. I bypassed the heater core and it stopped. Now leak has started back again and it is worse. Where could it be coming from?

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com.

You bypassed the heater core and you are getting coolant in the vehicle? If that is not what you meant, let me know. Honestly, there are two coolant hoses that go to the heater core. One is a supply and the other a return. Under the hood, if you disconnected both hoses from the heater core pipes and then ran one hose to complete the flow, there should not be any coolant in the vehicle.

I attached a picture of the core and pipes. Take a look at it. Also, let me know exactly where you bypassed the core and if I am correct thinking the coolant is leaking into the vehicle.

One last thing, if you need to locate a leak, the best thing to do is pressurize the system. Here is a link that shows how to locate a coolant leak:

Let me know if either of those helps.

I will watch for your reply.

Take care,
Joe

Maybe your condensation drain is stopped up and this is water generated by the A/C evaporator?
