The hose taking coolant to the engine has snapped. Can I do a temporary fix with some tape if so how long will that last?

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Using tape will not work to repair a broken or torn hose. The system is pressurized when the engine heats up, and tape is not strong enough. You should really just replace the hose. It will be cheaper in the long run because otherwise, you will be adding coolant all the time.

Here is a link that shows how to replace one:

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe
