Recently replaced the radiator, now coolant doesn't flow from the reservoir when refilling. Overheating after about 30 minutes of driving at 50MPH. I have read that it could be a bad head gasket, but I was hoping for something easier like a clogged system, trapped air pocket, faulty thermostat, or failed water pump. I will appreciate any thoughts, advice, or feedback.

Hi,

It could be the result of air still in the system. Don't laugh but does the heater work when you are having issues?

As far as bleeding the system, it is done through the overflow bottle. I attached the directions below (see pic 1). Take a look through them to see if anything was missed. Additionally, I attached the capacity. Check to make sure approximately that much was added. (See pic 2)

If you are concerned that it could be an issue with a head gasket, take a look through this link and see if anything mirrors what you are seeing.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions. Also, let me know if the thermostat was replaced and if the heater is working.

Take care,

Joe
