Oil cooler replaced after oil detected in coolant and then cooling system flushed.
Now it appears only sometimes that coolant is reaching one or more cylinders however there is no oil present in crankcase.
Removed and replaced valve cover gasket and no coolant present there or on dipstick. Also a coolant smell detected inside cabin.
How is the coolant reaching the cylinders without being present in the oil?

Good morning,

The leak may be small enough that it has not shown in the oil system yet.

If you want to be sure, you can have a leak test done to confirm. that is when they insert shop air into each cylinder one at a time and watch for coolant movement in the radiator.
