I just put some prestone 50/50 all type make and model car coolant in my car. now I am reading i shouldn’t have?

Possibly added the wrong coolant type

Hi David,
Your coolant type is called Hybrid Organic Acid Technology or HOAT. You must use this type of coolant so look on the bottle and see it is HOAT coolant.
If it does not say it is HOAT coolant, then you will want to get that out ASAP because it will not mix properly and could congeal.
The color of the coolant doesn't matter so much even though the dealer will give you a hard time if the color is not correct and you are having issues that would be covered under warranty. It looks like you may still have some warranty left based on age and mileage so I would recommend you get it drained and filled with the recommended fluid either way. If it is not HOAT fluid then you need to do it sooner than later.
Lastly, just make sure it says that it is HOAT fluid and not HOAT compatible because that is different.

Okay. Sorry for the delay but I ran over to the auto parts store yesterday and read the bottle and the all makes does not specifically say what it is. This means it is not specifically HOAT coolant.
Prestone says it will not cause any issues however,if you do and the dealership finds this coolant then they more than likely will deny the claim and Prestone more than likely will not pay either because they say it does not cause an issue. This leaves you stuck in the middle.
