I have the car listed above convertible. I do not know if this “issue” is normal or not, but whenever I have the top off (car in convertible) the button to take the top off has a red light that keeps flashing and beeping while driving, and it will not go away. Is this a problem or is this normal? I attached a video below.

Check out the image below.

My thoughts are that maybe you are not doing the "top down" procedure exactly by the book.

Or

Maybe the sensor is defective, maybe it has something in it's way, or maybe it's knocked out of place.

See my screenshot below, it tells the correct way to lower it.

Let us know what you find out!

Hi, I am back. So I did the top down procedure exactly as it was shown in the screenshot you sent me, I held button down until the top was completely off and I waited until it gave me a beeping noise of some sort but it did not, and I held my finger pressed for quite a while after the top went down. What sensor are you talking about and where is located because I think that is the problem?

Actually, one thing I forgot to mention because I just saw it in the screenshot you sent, is that whenever I lift my trunk it gets stuck on the brake light assembly, and I have to hold and push the brake light assembly away as I am opening the trunk so it will not break it. I will attach a video soon

And note that that “chime” when the convertible top is completely off or closed only sounds when we put the top back on, not when I press the button to remove the top. So I am assuming the trunk may have something to do with it?

If I can jump in here the beeping is telling you the top is not all the way shut like a latch is not secure or sensor. Did the car get in a slight rear end accident? Here is a wiring diagrams that shows the closing switch which must happen to stop the beeping with a guide to show how you check them:

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

I do not believe the car has been in an accident, but the trunk pushing on the brake light assembly has always been a problem since we got the vehicle. Is there any way I can physically adjust the trunk door, like removing some latch bolts and attempting to move it slightly further from the trunk light? The wiring is a process I would not want to mess with.

Just check the latches when the top is closed see if they are loose or need adjustment. Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so we can see what's going on? that would be great. You can upload it here with your response. I would release the top and then spray wd40 into the latch and then close it. let me know.
