Convert automatic transmission to manual?

My buddy has the car listed above and the transmission is taking a dump on him. Standard stuff I've read online. Hard shifting, probably gunked up filters and all. We found a few locally heap cheap, so worst case we'll run one of those and hope for the best. I had another friend tell me some of the old rangers with the 2.9 and the M1R5 are compatible with the 3.0. If that's true, could we make his rig standard instead of automatic? I have access to an. Either 1989 or 1994 Ranger. And I'm learning here so well I'm open to criticism? Lol. Fact would be preferable!

If you mean a Ford Ranger, the transmissions wouldn't work because the Accord is a front wheel drive while the Rangers are rear wheel drive. The transmission in the Ford is about twice as long as the Honda. Then there is the issue of conversion. You would need to install all of the manual pedal assembly and its hardware, then change over the wiring harness to a manual as well as the engine computer so it didn't show errors from the missing sensors in the automatic. I would suggest that if he wants a stick to go buy one rather than try to convert an auto over.

My head was in a similar place. But I also know there is more I don't know than I do! I appreciate your time my friend. I met a guy a few towns over who may have an old manual for sale. I'm leaving it to the vehicle owner. I've worked one too many two day jobs that took weeks. Lol. Thank you!

Yeah, that conversion would fall into the 2 day = 2 month jobs. I wouldn't do it as a project unless I had a spare vehicle with all the parts setting next to it.

Done and done! I appreciate it :) you got a stereo guy? Lol. 09 Eddie Bauer explorer. I can get the head unit powered up but no sound out of the speakers. Considering getting a factory head unit again as there's an alpine in now. The wiring is dialed. The forums are all over. I'm lost.
