So I have the SLT model. I recently replaced all plugs, wires, cap rotor, starter, alternator, battery, map sensor, throttle position sensor, idle air control valve, belt tension-er, oil pressure switch and ignition coil. Today, 30OCT2018, in the ten miles, I drove to work my truck shut off on me six times. Recently I got a hole in my muffler and the catalytic converter internals "grenaded" as my service center manager at my work put it. I let it idle and there is no change in any of my gauges when my truck just shuts off. I currently have a 40+ plus year (with 25 years ASE certified) technician confused. And we rarely have the same days off so we can actually dive into the truck for a day or two and actually figure it out. I am almost tempted to go to a dealership and spend almost $200/hour and have them diagnose it.
What could possibly be going on with my truck?

Good evening.

First, were any codes set?

Lot of money spent here with no results.

Based on what you have replaced, I have to ask if anyone bothered to check the EGR valve to see if it is stuck open? That will give a gross vacuum leak and it will stall.

I would also check the actual fuel pressure as well.

One code was high voltage for one of my O2 sensors, there was a governor pressure sensor code that popped up as well.

Neither of those have any effect on your current issue.

That is what I thought and what my at home tech said. He did research in between appointments at work and said the most common thing that popped up for him was cam position sensor and the distributor column.

I would check this to be sure. It may be that easy.

This is trip #2 of my Dakota not shutting off out on me. Only thing I changed was going from mid grade back to regular. I will keep posting though if my truck stalls out on me again.
