None of my gauges work on my console. Lights work but not the gauges.

Hi,

What I recommend first is to have the can-bus system scanned. CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, the modules/computers are tied together via a few wires. This type of scan should identify any issues stored, regardless of the module.

Here is a video showing how it is done:

Next, check fuse 14 in the junction box. In addition to checking the fuse, confirm there is power to and from it. Pic 1 below shows the location of the fuse. Also, here is a link you may find helpful. The last pic below shows the location of the fuse box.

The remaining pics are the diagnostics specific to this problem. Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions. The scan that I mentioned should be done. It likely will be very helpful simply because there are several different things that can cause this problem.

One last thing. You indicate the vehicle has a 5.9L engine. My manual is not showing that as an option. It is only showing a 4.7L V8.

Take care,

Joe

Hi,

Unfortunately, the person didn't let us know what was found or how it was repaired. Is your vehicle the same year, make, and model? Let me know. Also, when you connect the scan tool to the DLC, does it power on but does nothing other?

Let me know. We can try picking up where I left off before.

Take care,

joe

Hi,

It could be related to a ground issue, a connector issue at the PCM, or a wire issue.

Since this is a 2001, I need you to start a new thread. We try to keep these specific to one year, make, and model vehicles so it is more helpful to others. Simply copy and paste your questions to a new post. Here is the link. I hope you understand.

Again, I hope you understand. I'll watch for the new post.
