Hi there, I am considering buying a used 2004 Mercedes C220 CDI Automatic Diesel with 97,000k miles and a full service history. I am a bit worried buying mercedes though as I have heard that they are expensive to own as they have regular issues. Could you please advise me if in your experience this is generally true, and if you would recommend buying an 11 year old mercedes. My only other option was a 2005 Volvo S60 but these apparently require 10 point turns and turn like the QE2.

General maintenance for a Benz can be more expensive than a cheaper car and Diesels are also a bit more expensive, but that goes for all diesels anyway, but saying that generally the reliability is great as long as you do fix any minor problem that shows up, i would go a Benz over a Volvo that that's just my preference, you need to drive both and back an informed decision yourself.
