Traded out the transmission from another junk yard transmission. My research on the VIN build list showed both vans were listed as having the same 46RE. The donor van may have been one year newer than my 1999. The original wiring connector with safety neutral and I think backup lights had 3 pins. Installed temporary jumper wire on the 3 pin bypasses the neutral safety switch to start and test drive the van. The new transmission connector has 5 pins. The van shifts nicely through all the gears. Dash light says overdrive off. Transmission fluid high temperature illuminates quickly. Buddy says the torque converter is not getting required information to properly operate. Will burn quickly. Best information I can find says with full wire diagrams. New wires for this connector can be wired directly to the computer to have correct functionality. My wiring skill is basic and ready to learn more. Last crash course was tracing every wire in and out of a 2002 computer for proper continuity and voltage.
Looking for advice on locating the full wiring diagram and how to fabricate the workable wire connections.
