Computer screen stays on and makes a beeping sound

I used to put the ignition key in and the computer screen would come on then turn off, now I put the key in and the computer screen comes on as usual, but makes a beeping sound and the screen will not turn off! Can you help please? Paul

not sure as to what exactly is going on here, but the best place to start is with a scan to check for any fault codes, not all codes will set a check light, if you have access to a quality scanner, look at the instrument cluster for specific faults.
