Good morning.

This code is for crankshaft position sensor out of line with the camshaft sensor. This could mean a timing issue between the crank and the cam.

You may a streched or worn out timing belt.

I recently swapped motors in my car. Replaced it with a 2006. They both are 2.4. My problem is that I am getting a crankshaft, camshaft code. I replaced the crankshaft sensor and cam sensor and still got the code. I took it to a shop and told me the timing was off 14.1 degrees. So I got the motor top dead center and both cams lined up perfect. The car runs great, except when I stomp on it. It hesitates at about 2,500 rpm's, and if I let the gas off a little it runs fine. Do you think that I have to get the computer flashed to match the 2006 motor? Pulling my hair out, must pass emissions. Thank you, Mark from Phoenix.

You need to list the exact fault code numbers. The engine runs on the crankshaft position sensor up to 2,500 rpm, then it switches to the camshaft position sensor. If you have a scanner, you should be able to look at how those sensors are listed under "Inputs/Outputs". I have a Chrysler DRB3 for all of my vehicles. It lists those sensors with a "No" or "Present" to show whether their signals are showing up at the computer.
