I have added a new cylinder head but piston number four has low compression, but it did not have with my old head. What could be the cause of the problem on the new one?

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros. Com. If there was not a compression issue prior, it can only be a few things. First, check to make sure the new cylinder head is properly torqued. Next, reinspect engine timing to confirm there is not a problem with early exhaust valve opening. Third, the cylinder head you used has a bad intake or exhaust valve seat not allowing the valve to fully seal or a bent valve which is not closing fully.

If you would like specifics related to cylinder head replacement, I need information. The A3 was not made in 2005. Either the year is wrong or the model.

Also, let me know if the new cylinder head is new, used, rebuilt.

Let me know,
Take care,
Joe
