Transmission has a grinding noise and will not shift past second gear into third gear. What other transmissions are interchangeable?

There is only one listed for your truck. The chart is attached.

You could replace it with other GM transmissions but wiring will have to be replaced to make it work as well as flashing the PCM to see it.
