I always see Ford Focus cars with transmission announcements. Are these CVTs? What is a common problem that happens with these cars?

Hello,

These are not CVTs.
The main issues are with the duel clutch automatic transmissions for these vehicles.
The dual clutch transmission is an option on the lower trim focuses and standard on the titanium.
Typical issues are jerking and getting stuck in gear. They do become noisy as well.

The standard automatic transmission does much better in terms of reliability.

I am attaching some of the info below about what I am referring to. This is a TSB from Ford on the 6PS6 transmission.

So, do you know which transmission that Focus has?

Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.

The best course of action would be to call your local Ford dealer and provide them with the VIN. Typically you can talk to the parts department, they will be able to look up and tell you which transmission the vehicle is equipped with.
