Coolant cap popped off at normal tempratures

I drove to work today and it was driving fine no weird temperature problems nothing as I got to work and parked it sat fir about 5 minutes before I heard a thud I checked my engine and the coolant cap was gone and coolant was all over the ground next to it what could this be?

Either a blockage of some sort or a head gasket problem. Have coolant system pressure checked for that.
