Cold starting

When engine is cold, it starts like a carburetor car with no choke, even though it is fuel injected. After it warms up it runs great.

Hey GUZZIEDTUC,

Does this issue only affect the idle?
When started from cold does your engine start with a fast idle and then drop down to normal?
If you drive the vehicle from cold does it drive okay, not lacking power?
When warm you have no running issues?

A good starting point would be to check for vacuum leaks.

It looks like there is a lot of vacuum control on this motor.
Also check for disconnected vacuum lines. There should be a vacuum system diagram sticker on the underside of the hood.

Hope that gives you a good place to start. There may be a few steps in narrowing down this issue.
