Running rough on start up and I hear a ping when I step on the gas

My car is running rough on start up and I hear a ping when I step on the gas. Now my coil wire connectors out of eight, five of them have the shall broken. So I connect the two wires into the two prongs on the coil anyway, now I'm thinking maybe the two wires are arcing each other and making the car run rough and ping. It may be sparking at the connectors, and not at the spark plug like it should, look at the picture. Thank you

I'm not clear on what wires you are referring to and your pictures didn't upload. If you could try uploading them again it would be very helpful. It does sound like you are on the right track if you see broken or cracked wires.
