Hello again,
On Septrmber 7th, 2012. You guys replied back to me on My needed to run a Diagnostic Sxan tool on my 99 gmc Jimmy to Diagnose my problems and p0507
p0410 trouble codes and Complete Instructions on how and what to look for. And I Thank You. I have found a Mobile Mechanic on Craigslist who has that Scanner and says he will do it for me fot &60 per. Hour. I am Hurting for money Real Bad right now and cant afford it at all. BUT, say I get up some money, How Long do you think it should take him to perform the whole test (the longest it should take) and when test is Complete, will he infact be able to tell me the probles? As Where, What and How to Fix the problems?
I just dont want to be Screwed over and taken Afvantage of, because I am a Woman, Ya know? I just need to know what to exspect andwhat I should be getting for my money. First he said 1 hour and then when I told him that I only wanted jim to tun the Test and Diagmoise it, then he went to say 2 Hours or longer. I think it is something as little as a Vacuum Leak or, I know the AirPump does come on and run. I cant afford to hand out even just $60, much less $180 to be told it was only a vacuum line. Please let me know what you guys think ok? A.S.A.P. Thanks Again Guys!

If you have any mechanical ability clean the throttle plate on both sides with choke cleaner and iac hole. Then have an auto parts rescan your truck they do it for free, but see if they will reset it and then drive it see if same codes come up. But any garage can fix this and they will give you an estimate PRIOR to doing any work at all.

O.K. /I did do all that a while back when you first told me to and again, the same codes appeared. I also checked the Air Pump Fuse and it was ok. And the air pump is infact running. All I want to know now is how long do you think it would take to run a complete scan test on the secondary air injection system/ air pump? Approx?

A couple of minutes but there may be something else causing the problem. They may want to do a smoke test on evap system as well as that may have something to do with it and that would take longner. You relly need apro scanner to check this as it can do many things the auto parts scanners can't
