Codes C1424 and C1422 light come on in red and steering was tough?

When I first had this issue, I had the light just above the TPMS light come on in red and steering was tough. At that time, I turned the car off, waited, and turned it back on the issue did not continue after that. Tonight, I started my car, and the same thing happened except it won't go away and steering will not get lighter. I'm a somewhat decent mechanic but electrical isn't my thing. Any help is appreciated.

Update: dealership is saying brake booster could be leaking internally.

Hi Kenny,

So it looks like the ABS control module is out but I don't think this will make the steering wheel difficult to move. Usually this will be the electric power steering module needs to be replaced which is common, please repost the codes for the ABS issue as we only handle one problem per thread. I would try clearing the codes to see if anything changes.

You might to want to try a hard system reboot as well, I have seen this fix these kinds of problems.

Here is how to change the steering gear out, you will need to get an alignment once completed. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
