I have a Freightliner Sprinter with a 3.0 MBE bluetec engine. I have codes P2004 P2005
also code for reductant consumption to high. I know P2004 and P2005 are intake runner control issues. I have looked all over the engine and cannot locate the control arms. Do I have to remove the intake to get to them? Also, is there a sensor to control that, if so where is it located?

The port controller is in the middle of the engine but goes through the intake with the linkage under the intake. The control motor is in the middle. There is also a sensor for each arm. With codes for both sensors the problem is likely to be the arms or the motor itself.

The earlier units had a simple vacuum dash-pot that pulled the linkage that was right on top and in front of the engine. On those the plastic arm liked to snap and you got the same codes.

Steve thanks for the reply. I will look tomorrow and see if I can find the motor I may have to upload a picture I seen something like the picture you sent but it was sideways. I am just hoping I do not have to pull the intake.
