Hi,
Absolutely, a failing fuel injector can cause a misfire. There are several different things that can. For example, weak fuel pressure, an engine vacuum leak, an issue with the air/fuel mixture resulting from a failed oxygen sensor, and the list goes on.
As far as the code is concerned, it is related to the EGR. When you replaced it, was there any carbon or debris in the intake that could be causing a restriction? Also, have you checked for a vacuum at the EGR?
If you have a vacuum gauge, try this. Engine Running (KOER) Self-Test while monitoring gauge. Approximately 30 seconds into the test, EGR flow will be requested for a few seconds. The vacuum at this time should increase above 5.4 kPa (1.6 in-Hg) to open the valve.
You will need a vacuum gauge to do this. If you don't have one, most parts stores will lend one to you. Do this so we can eliminate a vacuum issue.
Let me know what you find.
Take care,
Joe
