Check engine light came on just days before emissions test was due to get new tags.

Watched this video:

Decided to call a mobile mechanic to replace it turns out it is not like the video the location is under the battery. He replaced it and check engine was off and passed emissions test after two weeks of driving one morning I was heading out to shop light is back on and same code comes up, can this canister be accessed from underneath with the front end on ramps?

Thanks for the video, it helps. Code P0456 indicates that a leak in the evaporative (EVAP) emission system has been detected so it could just be the gas cap with a bad O ring. I would check all other lines from the tank to the canister and to the engine. I have included diagrams of the hoses you should check. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

Probably will be a week or more before I can get to it because we will be getting a roof replacement soon, thanks for your help. Is it common for the purge valve to cause the code as well?

It will if there is a connection problem and only sometimes if there is a mechanical error. Good luck with your roof.

The code went away after the emission vapor canister was replaced, and the Neon passed emissions just over two weeks later the same code came up when the speedometer passed the 150,000 mark and now check engine light is back, does that happen at 150,000 as a reminder for maintenance?

Not really, there sound like there is another code. Please run the scan to see if it is the same one and if not, please start a new question.

Last tank full I added one bottle of Tectron, had to fill up again two days ago nothing added and now the light is out, weird? The gas cap pressure test they did during emissions test showed it was fine, maybe the car is haunted.

It could be a sticking EVAP purge solenoid, here is the location so you can change it out if the problem arises again. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
