The code P0012 is the intake camshaft position timing- Over-Retarded (Bank 1); so what happens is the Variable Camshaft Timing (VCT) Oil Control Solenoids can stop working but I need to ask if the engine oil is full and clean, if not change it out with a new filter, if the oil is okay here is the location of the valve so you can remove it for replacement. Bank 1 is on the driver's side of the engine. Check out the images (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.

Thanks for the help. It first started probably 50,000 miles ago. I let a local garage change the oil a few times and I suspect that they used cheap inferior oil. I changed it and it was good again. Now It occasionally does it. I change the oil now regularly with syntheticc and it is good right now. So, the need is for these solenoids not the camshaft timing sensor. Thanks so much for the help!

No problem, I always change my own oil just for this reason, they don't care as much as we do about our vehicles.
