I am trying to find the transmission input speed sensor on a the truck listed above 1500. Can anyone show me where it is in a photo or diagram and describe how to access it? I have been trying to locate it for 2 days now. I cannot find anything on Google images or YouTube that helps locate it. Thanks in advance.

Hello,

On the 4L60E transmission (4 speed) the input speed sensor is located in the pump stator housing, see pictures below. To access this sensor the transmission requires a strip down.

A good video:

On the 6L80E(6 speed) the speed sensors are located above the valve body
See image 3.

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Boris

A quick follow up question. Since a strip down of the transmission is required to replace this sensor I have been looking at other potential causes in the off chance there is another solution. I noticed that in the fuse box under the hood there is a spot for a tcm batt fuse. There is no fuse present in this spot. Should there be a fuse here or is it not used.? It's spot #14 and it's empty.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Fuse 14 should have a 10A fuse fitted, see image below.
