I have the car listed above Ex model coupe. I got a P0715 code with the following description: "Cvt Input Shaft (Drive Pulley) Speed Sensor Malfunction". I am wondering what it could be.

Hi,

As far as the code is concerned, it is related to the transmission's main shaft speed sensor. Chances are it is the sensor, but it could also be a wiring related issue.

I attached the diagnostics below. I'm not familiar with your abilities, so you may look at them and not want to attempt it. However, I wanted to add them in the event you are comfortable.

The last pic I attached shows the sensor. It is on the side of the transmission.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

joe

Sorry for the late reply, I did get the main shaft speed sensor installed. I seem to have clear the code. I am wondering if I should just continue with my regular maintenance with a peace of mind or get it full inspection since the vehicle is extremely old?

I would change the transmission fluid and use the Type Honda ATF-Z1 fluid only, some of these cars have an external filter, please go over this video so you can see what I am talking about.

If everything works good and you have no warning lights, you should be good to go :)
