Is code P0455 still present? That is a fault within the EVAP system and could be the gas cap, but it could so be due to others.

I dont know if you found your problem but my 05 endeavor did the same thing after changing the spark plugs. Any time you took the gas cap off the car was hard to start the first time and as long as you did not remove the cap it would start fine. I then got a EVAP code PO455and after checking all of the hoses I had missed connecting one of the hoses coming from the rear valve cover. I assume this is part of the evap system and my car then started fine and evap code cleared.

Roborrison, I'm facing the exact same problem, last month the mechanic did the tune-up, since then every time I fill it, I have problems to start it plus the P0455 code shows again almost immediately (1 or 2 days after I clear the code) wondering if you can provide more details about what to look for in case the mechanic miss install something.

Check for broken or dislodged hoses of the EVAP system.
