A lean mixture can be caused by a couple things. First, an engine vacuum leak can cause it. Also, low fuel pressure. With that being said, I need you to check a couple things. First, here is a link that discuss how to check for a vacuum leak. You will need a gauge, but most parts stores will lend you one.

Here are the pressure specs specific to your vehicle:
FUEL PRESSURE
Fuel Pressure (Key ON, Engine OFF) .................... 250-450 kPa (36-65 PSI)
Should not decrease greater than .................... 34 kPa (5 PSI) in 1 min
