Code P0012, changed engine oil also excessive emissions/smoking?

Code 0012. The car listed above is an SE model. Changed engine oil. Also, excessive emissions/smoking.

Greyish white smoke

No noises. Runs fine when i clear the code but if i drive for a half hour or more the engine light comes on then the car gets sluggish.

So, this happens when the oil control valve gets plugged up or the camshaft actuator goes bad. So, let's try to remove the oil control valve for inspection.

The P0012 code on a 2017 Ford Escape indicates an issue with the camshaft timing, specifically "Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Retarded (Bank 1)."
