Anything is possible. However, since the work requires a lot of disassembly, there is a good chance they left an engine vacuum hose disconnected or a sensor unplugged.
Do me a favor, first check to see if there are any disconnected or damaged vacuum hoses.

Let me know what you find. Also, let me know if the check engine light stays on when the engine is running. Also, does the clutch seem to function properly?
