My Clutch is catching low and probably needs replacement in the next year or so. A local mechanic told me to bring it to him because he's able to make an adjustment on the clutch to extend its life. I have never heard of being able to do this. Is it possible to adjust a clutch in the vehicle listed above to extend its life, or is it likely the mechanic wants to just charge me for something that won't help.

Hello, there is no adjustment of the clutch, though he may be referring to making an adjustment in the pedal. This will not extend the life of the clutch, in fact if the clutch pedal is made tighter than it would accelerate the wear. This is a simple setup with a release bearing held by a fork which is operated by a cable, with assistance from the clutch master cylinder. Please refer to my attached image.

Hope this helps,
William

Thank you so much. I didn’t think it was possible ls to extend the life of a clutch with an adjustment.
