My clutch has been making a squeaky noise for a few months. Today I got in my truck pressed the clutch and turned key to crank it and the clutch hit the floor and it did not crank and it jumped forward about hitting a tree. So, I know my clutch is gone so went online to try to price and order parts I do not have the owner's manual for parts or part
numbers, also I am not sure exactly what to order.
Can anyone help?

Hi,

If the clutch pedal went to the floor, chances are either the clutch master cylinder is faulty or the slave cylinder.

I attached pictures showing both. Do me a favor. First check the clutch master cylinder reservoir and make sure it is full. If it isn't, add Dot 3 brake fluid to fill it. See if that changes things. See pic 1

If the reservoir is low, check the clutch master cylinder and lines to see if there is a leak.

If there are leaks but the reservoir was low or empty, go to the transmission bell housing and locate the slave cylinder. See pic 2. Check for evidence of a leak there.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

Okay, I had already checked, and it was empty. So, I filled the reservoir and got in the truck and pushed the clutch no change, but all the fluid leaked out. I had to go to work but when I got home, I'm going to get under it and see what I can find and I'll let you know, and thanks again.

Hi,

Thanks for the update. It is likely the slave cylinder, but it could be the hose itself.

Let me know what I can do to help or if you have questions.

Take care,

joe
