Clutch went bad with no warning?

My car didnt slip or grind gears. I took it in had oil changed the next day clutch went out. I can even put it in gear and let off clutch and it wont shut off. I guess it went out from wear and tear but usually you can tell if one going out. What be reason for just going out with no warning when was driving fine when took in for oil change.

This vehicle has a cable operated clutch so I suspect the cable broke or is stretched.

You are correct that it normally starts slipping and gives you signs but there is an issue with the cable it can be instant.

What I would do is just inspect the cable and make sure it is connected and operating the throw out bearing correctly.

I attached the process below from the manual on this so let's run through this and see what turns up.
